Buchstart is a Swiss project that promotes language and literacy development in children aged 0 to 4 through free books.
Every newborn in Switzerland receives a Buchstart book as a gift through libraries, pediatricians or parent advisory centers.This project resulted in a 16-page board book in four languages.Two children, accompanied by their grandfather, discover various animals and their sounds in and around their house. The text is short and simple, while the illustrations feature numerous details that encourage children to create their own stories.
